Just got a HA green, was wondering if I need an USB extender or can I just plug the dongle directly to the HA green?

Also how do i install HACS so I can further install more AddOns?

A USB extension cable is a good idea to reduce interference.

See here for details on installing HACS. HACS doesn't have add-ons though

do you know if i should get usb 2.0 or 3.0 for the cable extender?

and does it need to be far away from HA green? would a 0.5M cable work?

2.0, and ideally it should be plugged in a USB 2.0 port

0.5m is fine, but at least 1m would be better
