It's not very clear to me what do you want to know
I want device recommendation
some nice devices to start with
What kind of automations do you want to do? ๐
Well Idk yet. Probably lights and Outlets?
and Maybe some other stuff, maybe doorbell
Hi Finn, look for a decent Zigbee coordinator like the slzb-06 and some Zigbee devices like smart plugs or zgbee lightbulbs. If you would have to make a beginner choice like wifi or zigbee, always go zigbee if possible.
for doorbell, go for Reolink, compatible in HA and no cloud needed.
yes, but you should specify what you're looking for, otherwise it's hard to recommend random stuff xD
Ikea ZigBee devices are cheap and high quality, and compatible with the SLZB-06 that noDNS told you
I got an entire list of my Wireless devices if that can help
@dark saffron good one!
Thanks! Like an hour of formating and setting the right links for each device type
yeah, but usefull
I strive to assist :3
we all do ๐
Thanks, are there cheaper options to the slzb-06?
yes, ofcours, just i advice only what i think is price/quality and futureproof ok. There are a lot of zigbee dongle/sticks for a few bucks, had them before. Although it is a good start, over time you'd want to have something that has just better performance, options and good network covering. ๐
and buying things twice result in more bucks spent.
I see
but 80 euros seems a bit much
for just a few devices
are all of the ikea devices zigbee
Mostly
Thanks
May i use your link as reference for other users on this server?
Aboslutely! I got a github link on that post that is kept somewhat updated as well!
okidoki, thanks!
@dark saffron openminded to add hardware to your list? e.g. PoE camera Reolink RLC-820A, tested, fully local and SMLIGHT SLZB-06 coordinator usb/wifi/PoE capable, tested.
It's on a different page, let me link it!
