i got problems about my mmwave Sensor from Athom Tech, it randomly activate mmwave Sensor for a few seconds after a few Updates on ESPHome or/and HA. so i disabled mmwave, but i want to find out, why ?
I dont changed anything in my Automation (its Lights in the floorway) nothing is there moving or whatever.....and i dont know what to do....also reduced sensitivity to 1...... and trigger also.....
Anyone have the Same Problem ?

problem is, that it worked 1 year ?
and since 2 ? month....it activates randomly for 3 seconds....so it isnt active for long....
someone told me, it even can detect heartbeat, i have 2 in my living room, if im sitting still....im not be recognized 😄
so....im still alive, so
and i have 5 ? of them...only 1 is the problem......

yeah mmwave can detect heatbeat depending on the setup. there is a model where that is a specific feature.

have you tried switching them around? to see if its the device or the location?

i just disable mmwave and living with pir sensor then....
na, not now, its mounted on ceiling.....
im just wondering, why it just happened

if you have both PIR and mmwave then you can set it up so pir triggers it switching on but mmwave keeps it on.

problem is, that pir isnt triggering from the farest location....so its ok...
maybe it will fix it some days....i also have some wierd generic cam problems with webrtc streams.... which worked fine and from some update to another i have some problems..... and i seem to be the only one.... 😛
suddenly it isnt a webrtc stream 😄 just generic cam integration, with a Tapo URL.....
thats the power of updates, sometimes it will be better, other times...it will be badder 😛

yeah, tp-link smarthome stuff (tapo/kasa) is slowly being locked down. tp-link cant be trusted. not saying you need to instantly replace it but if your looking to get more or replace then look elsewhere.

the underlaying issue is that people using stuff locally doesn't allow for them to slerp and sell data. theres beena few issues raised about it.
reolink is my normal recommendation for cameras. they can work fully locally (most of them anyway) dont require account to use etc... and they activly work with the project. there is a tested and known working on the reolink integration documentation
as I mentioned its not critical but worth moving away from in the future. and dont be too supprised if they just push and update that stops it working with HA etc...

they just decide to encrypt it or something "for security" to work with "the new and improved app" or some bullshit
maybe they will maybe they wont. but they have already messed with some other devices and locked stuff down.
e.g. some smart plugs that had a local interface now require you to have an account to sync the plug to to reanable "local interface" but if connection to their server goes down then the local interface is switched off again. basically making it pointless.
as mentioned... they cant be trusted (well that's my opinion anyway)

reolink dont have what i need....dang.... need to watch out....
i hate those MArketing speech.... 4K 2K 3K cameras and only have 4Mpixel sensors...and u cant find any real resolution of them
and full HD...maybe worse but 2K or 4K marketing sticker 😛

I remember switching the protocols on in the app in the network settings somewhere. i have it set up with frigate then the stream via the frigate integration mostly. instead of directly though reolink integration.
