It’s still not working after restarting the Voice PE.
I’m using a Home Assistant Green connected to the internet through a TP-Link travel router. The connection speed isn’t very fast, but it should be sufficient. The Voice PE is also connected to the same router via Wi-Fi.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot or resolve this issue? I’d really appreciate your help!

then it loses connection to haos, you have to check your network settings. start with setting haos network ipv4/ipv6 to automatic and set a reservation/static ip in you router.

#

Also check wifi settings as most IoT devices dont like the 5ghz band

#

In the latter case, make an extra IoT wifi network on router with 2.4ghz only and connect device to that wifi-network, make sure in router that you not set is as isolated network so they can talk to eachother over different wifis

Thanks for the detailed information. I have setup the HA green and Voice PE with static IP, and they are using the 2.4 ghz. Just wonder if change to another better router maybe useful? As the original Wi-Fi is a public Captive Wi-Fi, that is the reason why to use the travel router to create a new Wi-Fi end point.

static in your router, right? Not on the green, this should be automatic

#

what does the signal strength say in your router for the voicePE?

#

And check wifi channel is good

#

yes a better router will deliver a stronger signal, wich is always better. but only if you set it up like mentioned before

I removed the HA Green from the static IP list, and the Wi-Fi signal strength looks good at around -40 dBm. After restarting both the HA Green and the Voice PE, the PE is now working properly. I’ll continue to monitor the situation to ensure everything remains stable.

Thank you for your advice!Casita

I'll post this in case it's helpful, although it is unique to my system: I run HAOS on a NUC. I have an 2-unit ASUS ZenWifi AX setup as a mesh with a wired 1G backhaul. My 2.4G wifi has a different SSID from my 5G wifi. I had troubles with my HA Voice PE randomly disconnecting then not reconnecting. So I gave it a dedicated IP, even that didn't solve the problem. It turned out that my ASUS router has a feature called "Smart Connect" and what they claim it does is hand-off wifi connected items to either 2.4G band or 5G band based on some predetermined criteria to increase performance. What I found was happening was that my HA Voice PE was configured with the 2.4G SSID and a dedicated IP, but the router would hand it off to the 5G radio ...the HA Voice PE can't use 5G and it didn't have the SSID for 5G, so it would try to reconnect and then fail. Bottom line: switching this feature "off" solved my problem.

that's why the advice was to set up an extra IoT ssid 2.4ghz only, then it does not switch
