I use Phillips Hue light all throughout my house connected to HA with Zigbee2Mqtt, and everything's great. I just picked up the new Festiva permenant outdoor lights, which should be Zigbee2Mqtt. I am curious though as using hue lights as I have does really sacrifice using the Hue app, and for these outdoor lights I do like the easy Hue app scenes and such.

I believe some people use a Hue hub with Hue bulbs in HA, and I believe people still can then use the Hue app as well as HA, or am I just imagining this.

If this is the case how do you go about this? I did some research initially but really landed on just strictly using MQTT but with these outdoor lights I would like them to color cycle and such, which I know I can do with HA directly but I know thats also intensive on HA as its sending constant updates to color shift the lights.

Any info would be great!

Just spit balling.
Some zigbee devices support color modes on device. But also you might be able to find a Phillips hue integration, or mqtt integration to control your Phillips hue stuff through that hub?

look in integrations for philips hue and install. I dont use it bcs everything is just handled by zigbee2mqtt..
