Hi I have recently noticed that when I connect outside of LAN I lose any custom icons I have set on my dashboards. And my wifes app doesn't have them on or off wifi. I've cleared cache on the companion app, HAproxy, Restarted HA, uninstalled Custom Icons, restarted, reinstalled, restarted. All my web browers seem to show them just fine.

try to clear frontend cache from teh app. Settings > companion app > troubleshooting > reset frontend cache
