My companion app voice. Has a hard time commecting.

I use one hostname for hass.
That is working locally (also offline)
Web access
And trough vpn.

Now the connection does not reconnect well when i enabled/disable the vpn while using the app.

Webpage has no issues

android and local host names never really played well from what i have seen in my own experience

how did you set-up your companion app, using same address for internal and external use? Try making use of ip instead of name, this should rule out dns issues. Also it seems that it's a pure android issue, not quickly enough changing between vpn on/off.

My home.domain.name points to the right ip

that IP is OR a INET or a VPN or a LOcal IP!!!
