#Tasmota compatible smart plugs for Australia?

Looking to get a couple of energy monitoring smart plugs for my 3D printing shed, with Tasmota flashed to them (OTA preferably) so I can get them to shut the printers down after ten minutes idling. They seem hard to find here, though. There are those Athom plugs, but most of what I find about them online is people telling horror stories with vague and inconclusive references to the recent versions being better. Anyone got any suggestions?

athom stuff is fairly reliable (although i don't have a huge amount of experience to be fair). tbh most of the time people that have "horror" stories with smart plugs are doing something stupid with them. e.g. pumping high inductive loads through a relay or something.
THIS is the newer AU version with monitoring and a relay with tosmota preloaded.

or you could look at inline wired device from shelly if you wanted to go a different route.

there seems to not be a huge amount of choice in the AU market to be fair.

Guess it's Athom then 🤔

The printers aren't gonna be a huge power draw, though they do have an inductive component (stepper motors).

At least for my FDM it'll be switched off using the plug, as it doesn't seem to have a soft shutdown.

but as mentioned, I don't think it will be an issue. its more of an issue when people connect it to big motors running 24/7 and going all surprised Pikachu when they fail

Right-e-o.
I'll give them a go then.

Half the reason for these is also to get some centralised energy measurement going.
But my little Qidi Q1 is hardwired so being able to shut it down after it's done will be nice in terms of saving a little energy.
Same might be true of the resin printer depending on how much power it uses while idle 🤔
