#Automation to update scene?

Here's my use case:
In the evening(tied to sunset) the living room hue lights come on by very gradually fading in a scene, at bed time the lights are then turned off. They very much like this, especially now it gets dark so early..

during the night my mom will sometimes change the colors she wants. the issue is the next day when sun sets, it turns on the old scene before she made the changes.

is there any way to update the scene before turning them off for the night?

ive looked but there is no scene "update" action in the automation config GUI. there is "create" it seems very hack-ish but should i just have the automation create/over write the scene every night before they turn off?

just looking for any insight others might have with similar setups, thank yall much!

usually i set more scenes in ha (e.g. light on bright warm white, Lights off, Lights dimmed etc.) In automation you can set the lights back to the scene you want to start up with and after that scene Lights off. Hope this makes some sense..

scene.create will just update the scene if it already exists.

@junior pilot i have a bunch of scenes created for times and holidays throughout the year. if i use a calendar trigger to set what scene i want for my lights when they come on but not actually turn them on using the specific scene, how would i do that?

@prime horizon What do you mean? Turn them on but not turn them on?
