#Automation of blinds with state memory

Hi all, I'm wanting to automate some RTS Somfy blinds, but the question is also more conceptual. If tyou have blinds that are controlled by a remote that remembersif they are up, down based on preset top and bottom levels, is this information saved in the remote, or the motor? As I don't want to lose state of the blinds, whether it's reporting state to home assistant so I know where they are at, or being able to open with HA, and close with remote without it being all confused.... is this possible? Do I connect HA to the remote technically, or the motor?

Knowing that Somfy (normally) uses TX-only in many of their remotes, the typical signal would be start/stop or button pressed/released/held. that means that most likely the actual blinds hold the states

That is definitely good to know, thanks. Hopefully that's the case for mine, can't see why not but i'm a sucker for finding, and being bitten by, the exceptions! Hopefully I can narrow down the RF frequency of all of my blinds and maybe consolidate their hubs into a single, or maybe two controllers, depending on their tuning to 433MHz.
Wish me luck! Some stuffing around getting this working over the weekend

Well, just in case you are interested, or it somehow comes up in a search, you were 100% correct, the remote was not important, and using the shades with the remote still updated HA as to it's state so that's awesome. My only problem is when my receiver setup (built similar to the RTS SOMFY ESP project) ran out of battery in less than 2 days as I had not yet built a case for it to be safe somewhere plugged into the wall. Strange considering it was a 20k power bank but oh well.
