#Is it worth it setting up HA just for one lightswitch?

everyone starts somewhere, it starts with a light switch then your down the rabbit hole...
I guess it depends on your actual use case. also you should also mention where you are in the world when looking for hardware recommendations as the answer may change country to country.
Germany
If it helps: https://geizhals.de is the best price comparision site for hardware here
Just need something to turn of my light as I often forget to do so
Start with zigbee and get a switch module.
Keep in mind that those get installed behind the switch and you should check if there even is enough space to do so
They aren't exactly tiny units to insert and wire for a location that wasn't designed with them in mind
You can also get a whole switch. One from aquara for example. A module just fits better with existing switches and is invisible.
a relay behind switch is a great option. but if your intending on just some limited stuff then i would probably lean towards wifi instead of zigbee as it doesn't require investment in a coordinator. in general i recomend Shelly stuff. also if you get a gen4 version then it supports both wifi and zigbee which means you can change your mind down the line without replacing
context?
Compare the 70's ad slogan with the premise of the question.
IE no one can set-up just 1 Home Assistant device... compared with 'No one can eat just 1 potato chip'.
I thought it fit well and was the first thing I thought of when I read the title.
And it's funny. We all need some humor in our lives, no matter how feeble the attempt.
