#Any recommendations for temperature sensors for fridge/freezers?

I have tried 4 different devices, 2 zigbee and 2 Tuya Wifi, and none of them will reliably communicate from inside a freezer or fridge. They all work, sometimes, and other times they don't. Sometimes they work from outside the fridge/freezer, but often, if they stop communicating from inside the fridge, takin them out doesn't mean they will start working. Yes, every time there is a problem, the first thing I do is verify that it is not a battery problem.

Anyone have any insights? Recommendations?

Thank you for your time!

Look for one with a prob. Apollo automation offers one last I looked.

Or place a zigbee lightbulb close to freezer and pair sensor with bulb (if using zigbee, wich i would prefer)

works as repeater.

and check sensor and batteries are functional for -20 C / 68 F

I've got a xiaomi ble temp & humidity sensor with an ESP home device about 15m away picking it up fairly reliably

#

I think it's running the 3rd party firmware so it's not actually paired, just broadcasting the data for anyone to pick up

i would not want to let anyone pick up my data 😉

Perhaps ecowitt temperature sensor...they make weather stations and their sensors can handle very cold temperatures
