#Can we reset the kWh total energy on Z-wave devices?

after a disastrous updating process of my Qubino smart plugs, I have everything going again, except for one detail, they have a huge negative usage:

I did try to reset various values and derivative entities, but this keeps bugging me.
Ive thought of factory resetting them and start all over, but, wouldn't the history/longterm stats of these devices be overwriting the factory setting, leaving me where I was to begin with?

Does your device have a button in the Z-Wave panel "reset accumulated values"?

ok so here's a first 😉

#

back to 0 kWh.... too bad to see my many years accumulation get lost now, but it is what is is, and that silly negative number wasnt anything to go forward with....

#

now I have only silly things and obvious impossible readouts like this to take care of....

Shhh. Hide your fusion reactor

Sure, but it is so tedious… don’t think it will ever be truly reliable unless wired

right, so I thought this was fixed, but now ook what happened

#

it went from negative to positive.... on these 2 devices, the others seem ok now

#

somehow even the reset accumulated values button disappeared from the device entities, so I re-enabled it and clicked once again. Back to 0 for now, let's see what happens

unresolving the thread because of this

Are they included with encryption?

sweet sky
#

No, I’ve never used encryption in Zwave

That would prevent such packet corruption.
Unless the devices measure something unrealistic, it's likely due to noise near a repeater or the controller.

is there a possibility to re-included those devices with encryption?

If they support it, then exclude and include them again, with encryption. You may have to force S0
