#Is it worth replacing Frigate/Coral with the Reolink Integration + SD card (for storage)?

Context, was previously running HA (01.2024 -- 1.5+ years old) alongside frigate for 2 Reolink Cameras. I used a USB Coral/edgetpu for people detection in frigate. This has worked OK - but it's always been a bit delayed and the UI of the camera card in HA was alway so-so.

I've been doing a round of updates to get everything up to modern. In the process I read each of the HA monthly release notes and noticed there's been a lot of evolution in the ReoLink integration.

I'm wondering how Reolink's built-in recording (to flash card) and people detection works compared to Frigate?

Is it worth ripping frigate/coral out of my setup and just going with HA/Reolink/FlashCard ?

I don't have fancy needs here. I just want simple/reliable people detection (for alerting) and relatively minimal recording needs. Like whatever a 32G flash card stores is probably fine, a day or so would be sufficient.

Just curious if others have experience between the two and what they think.

Thanks!

running reolink rlc-820a without issues. If your cams have decent (AI) detection, the reolink integration works fine and locally. Any AI related stuff is better with coral/frigate. For my cam (AI detection integrated in cam) it works without a hitch.

as it's basicly the same for options and detection as mine, absolutely.

did not regret buying that cam for a moment

and your cams are supported in HA
