Hi everyone,
I’m planning to build a Home Assistant setup on a Raspberry Pi 5 and I found some components on AliExpress (official Pi 5 NVMe SSD Kit + GeeekPi metal case with cooling).
Do you think these AliExpress versions are reliable enough for production use (e.g. smart home automation in villas/apartments), or should I stick to buying from official suppliers?
Any advice or experience with AliExpress components for Pi 5 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When I see a RPi5 on Ali it's always more expensive then local... But I do expect that you'll get a genuine RPi if you order it via Ali. Also see no problem in a case or a hat. But SSD's from Ali are usually not really great...

N100 or N150 PC's are indeed very nice. They are a little bit less efficient as a RPi but way more powerfull. If you only want to run HA 12GB is mooooore than enough. If you want to run heavy addons or other stuff with Proxmox I would pick up a 16GB version

What is your budget? Why not buy a used tiny PC from eBay or similar?

I would not use a J3710 machine. That's about 4x as slow as a N150 for the same power 🙂

I don't know how shipping from Ali is there, but for that money I could buy a nice N150 with 16GB on Ali
