#Can't get my MR1 to work with the OpenThread Border Router Add-On

So I am completely new to HA and I would say I am about average when it comes to my software knowledge (so I am quite far out of my comfort zone here).
I got my SLZB-MR1 configured with the EFR32MG21 in Matter over Thread mode and the CC2652P7 in Zigbee cordinator. I got Zigbee to work but I am trying to get Thread working since like over 2 hours. The Device just does not want to show up in my Device list when I try to configure the Add-On. I tried it with just a Ethernet connection (no luck) I tried it with connecting directly to my Pi (Pi 3 if important), switched between Ethernet and USB mode. Nothing seems to work.

If anybody has any tips they are HIGHLY appreciated.

For thread, connecting the radio via USB is recommended… but I don't know exactly how the MR1 behaves in USB mode. Maybe it's only exposing the serial connection for one of the two radios?
