I can't say for sure, but reviews on Reddit have been mixed at best, though (as always) YMMV, and some have reported them being great. Sounds like the Nanoleaf app may be required for initial connection and/or firmware updates? Not positive.

Again, I can't say for sure - just repeating what some have claimed on Reddit. They may not know what they're talking about, of course. I imagine that's easily confirmed or denied, either way.
