I have HA running on a NUC with CoreOS. I have started to have HA crash on me overnight, 2nd day in a row.
The only errors I can find are on the console before a reboot, not seeing anything in logs and nothing seems to be in /var/log for some reason.

I/O error on dev nvme0n1p5, logcal block <number changes>, async page read
(device nvme0n1p5): erofs_read_inode: failed to get inode (nid: ) page, err -5
failed to rotate /var/log/journal/<longhex>/system.jounral: input/ouput error
failed to wrote entry to /var/log/journal/<longhex>/system.jounral despite vacuuming.

is this just the nvme failing and i need a new one or is there something that can be done?

Installation method Home Assistant OS
Core 2025.9.4
Supervisor 2025.09.0
Operating System 16.2
Frontend 20250903.5

Well the easiest would be to change the nvme and see if it works

that would require buying a new one though.

#

if i have to becuase it is dying/dead that is one thing but I dont' have spares

It wouldn't show faults if it weren't faulty. The extend tho is merely something we could guess

#

You can also try reinstalling the thing and hope it doesn't appear again (in case this is just some broken filesystem due to some unexpected loss off power or similar) or that it's some heat or board related issue

just have to figure out how to backup zwave-js to do that

absolutely hardware related, buy new and keep old as spare?

i/o errors are HW or powerloss related.
