#ZHA / Zigbee2Mqtt No binding of new devices possible

Hello everyone,

I've been experiencing the following problem for some time now. A Tradfri E1745 suddenly stopped working. All the other devices were still fine. I then deleted the motion sensor (BWM) and tried to reconnect it, but without success. A new Hue lamp also won't connect.

Here's what I've already tried:

  • Firmware Update of the CC2652RB from Slaesh
  • Switched from Z2M to ZHA
  • Changed the Zigbee channel from 11 to 20

Do you have any other ideas what the problem could be?

deinstalled zha? Removed devices first in ZHA before deleting them in HA?

I deleted Z2M. Removed all devices in HA. Installed ZHA afterwards.

for most zigbee's you first have to delete them in zha or z2m, otherwise they internally are still paired to zha and can not be re-paired out of the box.

try to factory default sensor

i already did, same problem. Even an completly new hue bulb wont bind.

read docs or google reset procedure for device

Again, i already did that, multiple times ... I wouldn't ask if i didnt. Is there a way to analyse what is happening?

so that new Hue lamp would have to be recognized since it has not been paired before and enters pairing mode after powering on. Have you tried a full reboot of system?

#

Also, is your zigbee network strong enough for pairing (pair closer to coordinator or routerdevice). For the sensor, also check battery (low charge can cause connection loss)

Correct the Hue Bulb is new and was never paired before. I did a Full System Reboot. Other Bulbs of the same type are bound and just 1-2 m apart. Is there a way to fully reset the coordinator, or something like that?

remove zha addon > delete zigbee.db in /config with file editor or samba > remove phisical coordinator and reboot. After reboot, attach coordinator and it will show up. Note that this will erase your complete zigbee network and devices.

Maybe that is something like last resort. Any other idea, of what i could test?

not atm, maybe try another device to pair and see if that also cant pair

Do update HAOS, peoples are reporting it will fix a lot of things, including mqtt update.

So, i think i fixed it. It did not work after the update. But installed a fresh version of HA on a difrent box. Reset the Zigbee Dongle there. Put it back to my Main HA Box and its working as expected. Had to rebind everything, but it works again. Thanks for your help.
