Hi, I am new to all this, including linux, did one rpi with pi-hole and unbound - with step by step guide - and thats about it. Bought Lenovo M73 to be my HA machine, ChatGPT lied to me that it will be perfect... it has no UEFI and it's not possible to go with HA OS. So I've installed fresh Debian bookworm and wanted to go HA Supervised route BUT again, ChatGPT told me its the best choice for me. At this point I have trust issues and would appreciate if someone with more experience confirmed or denied that this is the best idea. The other option is docker - I will have 0 idea what am I doing tho.

I will use HA to monitor my security cameras - currently I am using some app full of bloatware - and air quality sensors, thats for starters, what will be added over time is a big mistery.

Send help.

Hello @terse parcel,
Supervised and Core will no longer suppoirted with official updates after 2025.
You MAY regret using this method.

ChatGPT or any AI is not to be relied on. For instance being advised to buy something that does not allow the use of HAOS, which soundd like what you actually need based on current skill level, is just bad advice.
I suggest following the VM path and running HA that way. That would be the path requiring the least computer knowledge at this point with that equipment.

Let's not confuse computer knowledge with linux knowledge here, I am dumber but also smarter than I appear. I would like the proposed solution to be the best route not the easiest one. Lack of the support for supervised was my main concern tho.

Proxmox VE will be a good choice?

Proxmox installed, that wasn't above my skill level. Will try to create a virtual machine with HA Tomorrow
