Hello to anyone reading i recently bought a rodret dimmer from ikea i wanted to know if i can use zigbee to mqtt to control it and if i can can someone help me setup it up for i have a sky connect zigbee stick

well i think there is something wrong with my my rodret switch
i press reset 4 times and the red light doesnt come on

I can confirm the Rodret works with Z2M. Just moved one of mine from ZHA to Z2M a few days ago. Also

one of the battery contacts was broken
i shoved a piece of aluminium foil in there and it works

When I added mine it took a bit of time before Z2M got it all working. Works now with my automation to control some lights.

but nope it is now mqtt messages

Yes, I have at least 5 of them and always have to wait some time to get it fully working
And remember that if it needs a firmware update, it literally takes hours due to the ZigBee data speed

mine is a dimmer and as it seems i can only use on off and held down
i can bind release but it would be point since it would trigger if i stop holding
i bet the button is more customizable like double tap and stuff

By the way, smartplugs from Ikea are very fine, cheap and with high quality 👌
And the same with presence detector, just be aware to use the Ikea rechargeable AAA batteries

i can use double press on my dimmer now
i have set it to control my three lights the fan and also if i double tap the music plays
it is quite a lot for one switch
but until i buy another it works
ill probably seperate them once i get a new one for all the others but now it works super well
