#Seat sensor for mesh office chair

TLDR: Use a cushion and a pressure sensor 🙂
I think I'll put a strain gauge on either the piston or the mesh itself and read it using an esp32.
Beware that you need a battery, etc and the ESP32 doesn't makes that easy
I use a seat pressure sensor and a ZigBee flood sensor, modified to get the input from the pressure sensor, cutting and soldering the wires. No polarity. Works with AAA rechargeable batteries and lasts for many many months 🤷♂️
And I use the cushion because of the long working hours in that chair...
Through mesh? Perhaps another option is a heat sensor, or a thermal IR sensor (remote thermometer).
For the record, this sensor works perfectly: https://www.amazon.de/Linel-Sitzsensor-Sicherheitsgurt-Drucksensor-Sitzbelegungserkennung/dp/B08T1T6FH8
