In a rental (I am tenant), I have a newborn's nursery and a lamp in there with 3 bulbs. the outlet is tied to a switch on the wall, so I can power on 3 bulbs with the wall switch. Nothing about that setup is "smart", and I can't change the actual wall plug
I want to make it easier for my wife or myself to adjust the brightness in the room, but I have a specific way I want to do it.
- When we leave the room, I still want to retain the ability to cut power to the bulbs using the switch on the wall ( to prevent accidentally powering on the nursery lights with a smart home command).
- When we come in and power the lights on, I'd like them to power on, but to 0% (or 1% I suppose). Then each time I push a smart button, it gets a little brighter. Then when we leave, we just have to flip the wall switch, then the system resets, and powers on at super low or off brightness.
How would this be handled?
