Having an issue trying to add my Apple TV via the integration. When prompted, I supply the IP of the Apple TV; it spins for a few seconds then returns the error, "No devices found on the network".

Here's my setup:

  • HA is running HAOS installed onto a rpi.
  • HA is connected to the server vlan via ethernet.
  • Apple TV is connected to the default vlan via WiFi.
  • Both HA and Apple TV have static IP addresses.
  • mDNS is enabled on both vlans.

Items to note:

  • I have a Chromecast (on the same vlan as the Apple TV) that works fine with the HA Google Cast integration.
  • I can ping the Apple TV from HA terminal just fine.

A little rude to assume I don’t have proper reason or use for multiple vlans in a home setting, but meh your point can often stand.

I have certainly been giving it more thought recently. Ultimately I still believe this approach is simpler than a single trusted vlan given my use case.

Hoping someone here has run into this before, but later today I will be verifying if it’s a networking issue vs HA.

Point taken. And because it isn't designed to work this way, doesn't mean it can't make it work, it just means it hard. I certainly don't have an actual answer.
