Basically title. Just learned the hard way that without a plan Ring will not allow you to arm/disarm the system with the app even if you're in the home. Would the HA Ring integration help me work around this or do I need to rethink using the Ring base? Thank you for the assistance.

Yea should have figured. I gambled on it because it was cheap and my understanding is most of the components follow standard z-wave protocol so I can just link them to my HA if I don't want to sub

I'd argue that isnt 100% accurate in this case since the modules are on a normal z-wave protocol

But you can use it in Home Assistant? Excellent. Try to unplug your internet cable and look if it continues working. That would be a great thing, but I don't think so

I dont think so. Cheap cameras have micro SD that backup all videos. Cheap peepholes do so. I have some Tapo cameras that works locally with HA
It's clear that is not the Ring features, but you have to balance your preferences between safety/privacy/convenience/cost/etc 🙂
