Hello, everyone!
I'm Doug from Shelly USA. I'm almost done setting up my new office and am planning Shelly-specific workshops and classes there.
The reason for posting here and on Reddit is because I'm wondering if there's also any interest in a monthly or quarterly Home Assistant meetup in Boca Raton.
Back in May, we had a meetup for Home Assistant Community day and it was really fun, though most people who came were more for Shelly than HA, so I felt like some people missed out on what could have been a great HA event.
because of that.... while I'll gladly answer any questions regarding stuff I do at the day job, this would not be another episiode of the "That jerk Doug" show.
This would be for HA enthusiasts to get together and talk shop, share ideas, and teach each other.
The meetings would alternate between a weekday night one month and a Saturday afternoon the next, to give folks with different schedules a chance to go (I'll have Shelly workshops on the opposite schedule each month to give those enthusiasts an outlet).
If enough people want to do it, I'll get a Meetup set up and start putting something together for the end of October or mid-November to start.
Also, if you think it's a stupid idea and I suck, let me know - if 3 or 4 people think it sucks for every 3 or 4 who like it, then maybe I need a new hobby 🙂
