I just found out about the new SMHUB from SMLIGHT. It combines multiple radios (Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) with optional modules for Z-Wave and LTE, and runs a Linux-based system with tools like Zigbee2MQTT, Node-RED, and Matterbridge.

Since I don’t have much experience with smart home systems in general, I’d like to ask for an assessment from users who are more familiar with this field.

It's an interesting idea, but such a new product there's no way to give an accurate evaluation of it yet. a lot of it will come down to how well smlight works with the community to support the os and software running on the device

#

the portential zwave support looks interesting, if they can get zwave js running on the device.

I wouldn't want to pick one up until they have at the very least publicly available firmware and build steps for "smhub-os"

#

if anyone does pick one up, make sure to assert your GPL rights and at the very least get the bootloader and kernel source code…
