#Can't update my SLZB-06 coordinator

I've tried updating my SLZB-06 a few times. The OTA checker finds the v2.9.8 to update, but on trying it returns a write err.

Then I tried via browser. But it fails to initialise. I know there are other options to short the pins, but I'd prefer not to open the device.

Also I'm not sure what's the right file to download manually from https://smlight.tech/flasher/#SLZB-06. The only 2.9.8 is the slzb-os-v2.9.8-full.bin, but the last for SLZB-06 is the slzb-06-v2.7.1-full.bin.

How can I update safely?

As far as I know the OTA variant should be fine to do upgrades with. I had the same issue and used the full and it worked so 🤷

#

Can you ping slzb-06.local ?

visual belfry
#

I can access it via browser no prob

true cosmos
visual belfry
#

can you then help me choose the right file? https://smlight.tech/flasher/#SLZB-06

slzb-os-v2.9.8-full.bin (only 2.9.8 which is the suggested)
slzb-06-v2.7.1-full.bin (last for 06)
slzb-os-u-v3.0.0-full.bin (actual latest)
?

visual belfry
#

perfect, that confirms the os versions are compatible, thanks

#

not sure why it's not using the available 3.0.0 but I won't risk it

#

you meant the option I showed, right?

true cosmos
#

I assume the u stands for unreleased or unstable 🤷

visual belfry
#

oh I had missed that

true cosmos
visual belfry
#

hmmm it uploaded... and then the page refreshed, and nothing happpened

#

trying again

#

plush monolith
#

can you disable dhcp on 06 and set static ip and gateway. then try again

#

if not working, connect usb

visual belfry
#

it seems to flash, but on reboot there's still the old version

true cosmos
#

I guess you could try to make a smaller version jump.

visual belfry
#

trying 2.7.1 now

#

same thing

plush monolith
#

deep void google says dhcp is possible cause

#

set static ip

visual belfry
#

always had

plush monolith
#

but not in 06 though

visual belfry
#

here too?

plush monolith
#

yeah i know, but 06 is set to dhcp

#

give it same ip as stated in router

#

make sure to fill both dns servers to your routers ip, as router will reflect .local as mdns

visual belfry
plush monolith
#

set first dns to router ip

#

reboot and try

#

time is set in 06?

visual belfry
#

yeah, it shows correct.

#

#

Just noticed somehting in the log:

[17:58:21] setup | [WARNING] Low filesystem size detected, Zigbee OTA updates will not work! FS size: 320
#

that's about the Zigbee OTA though, not the Core...

#

so it might not be related

#

maybe try a factory reset of device? could be a bootloader that is to old and need serial flash. also check device is sufficient powered. do next update over usb instead of wifi.

visual belfry

#

i am afraid it does yes.

#

try all mentioned stuff above and do factory reset if nothing else works. also reboot router 😉 for today i am off, good luck
