For the past week, with no obvious cause, push notifications from my automations have been failing with error "Device not connected to local push notifications".

I looked this up online and so tried changing my persistent connection option on my phone, but to no avail. I've also tried force stopping the app as well as restarting Home Assistant on my server, and I even removed by phone from the Mobile App integration and restarted the app to add it back in.

Help would be much appreciated. This is a massive loss of functionality for me.

Do you primarily use Firebase (cloud) push or local push notifications (persistent connection)?

If the answer is Firebase: that suggest to me the device no longer gets a token from Firebase so your server tries falling back to local push. Try restarting your phone if you haven't done so already.

I've tried setting the persistent connection to both "never" and "always" if that's what you're asking.

I'm able to get notifications if set to "always", but not on "never". I really would prefer the latter to refuce battery drain.
