#Control 4 issue
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
are you running OS 3.0+?
The only thing I can find about OS says its OS 3 so I'd assume yes?
if it's the right version, then look in your logs for errors
also understand that remote access is not supported
meaning the connection has to be local to HA
Would that be errors is HA logs?
errors or warnings
Logger: homeassistant.components.control4.config_flow
Source: components/control4/config_flow.py:94
integration: control4 (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 15:53:24 (2 occurrences)
Last logged: 17:50:32
Failed to connect to the Control4 controller
This is the error in the logs
that's telling me that it HA can't talk to your control4 controller
is it on the same network?
It is yeah
I'm sure they are both are on the same network
with the same subnet, and control4 has a reserved IP and you put the IP in correctly in the configuration?
Yup, even copied and pasted from the router itself, running a Unifi network so its quite easy to see it all
what is the exact ip you're putting into the configuration?
192.168.178.22 - which is what the C4 dealers set it to, on a static IP on the router
and what's your HA IP?
192.168.178.50
well, it should just work then
I've not set a static IP on HA yet, is that likely to have an impact?
no
You didn't put quotes or anything else in the configuration? Can you show the configuration by taking a screenshot?
Configuration when trying to add C4 to HA?
cracked it
entirely my fault and I feel pretty stupid, thanks for the help
what was it?
