I keep getting errors, the logs don't tell me much at all beyond secure starting and failing despite seeing my smoke alarms and using regular include to my thermostat doesn't appear at all. I'm using core on a Pi 4B and my found node and coordinator is a TubeZB with a zooz 800. I'm trying to find the log file but both samba and the file editor don't seem to see the folders where the file should be? Looking for any direction here as I'm at my wits end and I'm regretting Zwave at the moment as my zigbee and everything else in my smarthome works fine meanwhile I preordered z wave inovelli switches since everyone swears by the frequency z wave uses. I'll be happy to post anything to the best of my ability as far as logs, pleaase just be patient with me.

Tubes is zigbee, not sure why you're mentioning it. The zooz 800 is your zwave controller. If you're using zwave js addon, your logs are in that addon and are also accessible from the main log location as well... in the UI.
Because you're running a pi, your zooz needs to be on a usb extension cable, otherwise the interference from the pi's usb port will cause issues with your zooz controller.
I’ll get a log then, I was hoping to just copy the file and not have to copy paste. But there are multiple tubezb models, and one of them is indeed a zwave one
@lime venture do these work?
Need to be driver debug logs. I'd recommend saving to file. https://zwave-js.github.io/zwave-js-ui/#/troubleshooting/generating-logs?id=driver-logs
Sorry, this was the format asked for elsewhere, posting now
That log has when I try to get a smoke alarm added; it sees it but fails
This is very abnormal:
2025-09-10 09:56:07.902 DRIVER « [RES] [GetBackgroundRSSI]
channel 0: -128 dBm
channel 1: -128 dBm
channel 2: -128 dBm
channel 3: -128 dBm
what's it showing right now?
Keeps saying -128 occasionally I’ve seen it go -4X (I think 48 can’t remember for sure). I figured this wasn’t great (I do work with wireless a lot at work and negative usually equals bad for output lol) so I do have a replacement tube on the way. Byron is a nice guy
Yeah, either some bad hardware, or you have some source of extreme noise.
Normal range for an 800 controller is usually -100 dBm to -110 dBm. I believe -128 might indicate some kind of error. With the tubez setup I think most reports are a little higher, either due to some interference from the POE or ESP.
