#Recommendations Mini-PC hardware

I'm looking for good, reliable hardware to run Proxmox and then virtualize HA OS. The device should have enough "juice" for containers running pihole / adguard, paperless, ...

Some people use Mini-PCs for around 100 EUR from aliexpress (N100/N150, 12-16GB RAM). Others use devices like Dell Wyse 5070.

MiniPCs from Aliexpress seem like a gamble. If something breaks there is no warranty, .. and most devices can't be upgraded (RAM).

What do you use? What would you recommend? It should be able to hand HA OS in a VM, pihole, paperless and maybe something like nextcloud. Therefore i think 32GB RAM should be the goal - so it should be upgradeable.
Noise is not a big problem - would most likely run in a storage room. But a passive cooled device would also be nice.

Is there something in the range 100 - 200 EUR you def. would recommend ?
For the HA part: I've "plenty" of devices (lots of zigbee lamps/controllers, wifi devices, temperature sensors with BT, ...)

2 years ago i tried HA on a raspberry pi 3B which worked only for 2 weeks and didn't survive an update. That's where i stopped

the beelink n150 would probably fit that. It goes onsale frequently. I have one, I'm happy with it.

I prefer to recommend the used business tiny devices.

When I was looking a bit ago, I was having a very hard time sourcing a used Busines PC for cheaper than the beelink

Beelink Mini S13? But this one doesn't officially support more than the installed 16gb ram. 180€ currently on Amazon.

Btw: was looking at the Lenovo thinkcentre m920q tiny. Would draw more power, but is upgradable. Availability to actually get the device for a decent price would be difficult.

I have good experiences with the HP Elitedesks DM that I have been using for over a year. Proxmox for virtualization and then HA OS on a VM. This has been working flawlessly. I am running Adguard, Proxmox Backup, Nginx Proxy Manager on the same machine. Also, Proxmox runs as a cluster, so if you need more resources, you just add another machine.

"hp elitedesk dm" is vague... Found over a dozen (g1, g2, g3,... With different cpu/ram) . Which one specifically?

Pro G4 800 7500t, 16 gb ram. But if you have other requirements, you might need different specs, like 32gb ram.

I am actually looking on a similar setup for my secondary house. At home I use a raspberry pi 4 which runs fine enough. But for the second installation I try to get a 2012 Mac mini with 16gb ram and an i7 processor, then proxmox as you
