#Is the matter server add-on deprecated?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The Matter server is still in https://github.com/orgs/home-assistant-libs/packages/container/package/python-matter-server
And the latest add-on commits point to that.
There is no deprecation announcement. And I am not aware of any discussions about deprecation.
it's managed by the open home foundation which manages home assistant as well
The python matter server had been hosted here: https://github.com/home-assistant-libs/python-matter-server , and when you call that url you will be redirected to https://github.com/matter-js . So no, it has moved.
And the readme still says:
and all the contributors are all the open home foundation employees
Why has it moved then?
And it's listed as a product on open home foundation's website
Internal structurization.
why does it matter?
OK, can you give a reference?
The library is not for HA only, but can be used by others as well.
So it makes some sense to move it away from HA. But those are internal structural decisions not impacting the software.
Thank you guys. 👍
Then let me just note that the link on the open home foundation's website (when you hover over the Python Matter Server tile) still points to https://github.com/home-assistant-libs/python-matter-server (wich effectively lands in the matter-js org). Just saying. It might confuse people.
