Hi,

I am looking to buy a Bluetooth adapters for my home assistant setup.

It is running on a RasPi 4.

I previously bought a Sabrent dongle from the supported list but it doesn’t work at all.

I am trying to speed up the connection to my SwitchBot as at the moment, it can take 20 seconds+ to respond.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Do you perhaps own any ESP32 devices you can use as a proxy?

#

just asking as I recently discovered that works very well

#

also are you using HA OS?

#

cause that has a bunch of fixes for bluetooth...

And I also have a Switcbot and as far as I know, it works more or less well. It's the CO2 meter

When i use the onboard RasPi bluetooth, it can take ages to respond, or doesnt respond at all. The switchbot is max about 6M away but it still takes an age to switch.

Newbie here. I have a Home Assistant Green and I've flashed an Atom Lite with the ESP Bluetooth Proxy. I've got the Atom Lite added to my HA instance, but now I'm struggling to figure out how to add BT devices to HA through the proxy. Does anyone have experience with this particular setup?

It will find them automatically. At least it does with my switchbot curtains.

I’m using ESPhome. Dunno if it’s different. Sorry.

ESPhome is what I'm using too. After a bit more research, I didn't realize that there was a difference between BLE and classic bluetooth. I was trying to connect to a speaker for testing, but that apperently isn't supported.
