I have been running an Aeotec Z-stick Gen5 for several years, but with a few far away units dropping off the network sometimes thought I'd try Connect ZWA-2. Well, migrating seems a bit cumbersome, to say the least.
The official migration guide: https://support.nabucasa.com/hc/en-us/articles/29689016023069-Migrating-from-a-500-series-adapter-to-Home-Assistant-Connect-ZWA-2
states that the adapter firmware has to be upgraded to SDK 6.61+, and links to https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000252294-z-stick-gen5-v1-02-firmware-update
Following the steps to update the firmware of the stick does not work for me. Here is what happened:
I downloaded the drivers as per the instructions (Method 1), unzipped them and installed (Windows 11 reports that the operation completed successfully).
WHen trying to perform the update on the stick (step 3), the update tool keeps telling me to press the reset button, and fails to update the firmware.
Following this, I tried method 2 and 3 updating the drivers, but the end result is still the same. The update tool gives me the same "press reset" message and fails.
I have performed both troubleshooting steps 1 and 2 to no avail.
I'm about to pull my hair out here, can anybody help? I can't start over because my zwave network is large and unorganized...
EDIT: I'm doing the update on a Samsung Win11 laptop, Home Assistant is running on Yellow hardware.
If you already have a Z-Wave network running with Home Assistant on a 500 series Z-Wave adapter, and you want to migrate to Home Assistant Connect ZWA-2, follow these steps.
