Not that I know of. Probably also cc @rustic monolith as he's known with Google verification

As far as I know it's a different process at Google than the android one.
Could you be a bit more specific on the issue?

Hey @rustic monolith sure thing - I followed the steps this morning to set-up the Google Assistant integration (including setting up the OAuth steps in the Google Cloud console) - but when I got to the step of logging in with my Google Account, I got this error. I had spotted that Google was rolling out mandatory developer verification recently so assumed that might have been the root cause - and that given it only came into effect a few days ago, perhaps I was the first person to encounter it?

Here are the details from the "error details" link -

Error 403: access_denied
Request details: access_type=offline response_type=code redirect_uri=https://my.home-assistant.io/redirect/oauth state=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJmbG93X2lkIjoiMDFLNDY3QTVFWUM1QTUzVkNCTk1ORlFWVEoiLCJyZWRpcmVjdF91cmkiOiJodHRwczovL215LmhvbWUtYXNzaXN0YW50LmlvL3JlZGlyZWN0L29hdXRoIn0.mAT9y2s_ySYdRTCodF2Bc6QGYxUkSv8ySlMeZppYYrw prompt=consent client_id=766141013264-hkpbjfavkicjgsljj0nf7nl8spg02flt.apps.googleusercontent.com scope=https://www.googleapis.com/auth/assistant-sdk-prototype flowName=GeneralOAuthFlow

(of course let me know if this is me and user error, as opposed to something else!!)

My Home Assistant

(replaced in UI) in Home Assistant.

Hey @rare socket - ahh OK, noobie-me-error?! 😉

rare socket
#

It's currently in testing mode and you need to add each account that has access separately

cold jay
#

eg - the step that I may have missed here?

rare socket
#

Yep

Great!

#

With the recent news it wouldn't surprise me. But then I would expect this to be a bigger thing

cold jay
#

Yeah, fair call. I'm actually working in Google Play at the moment - which was the only reason I knew about the developer verification process!

So the dev verification that you saw should not impact you expect if you install the android app from F-droid. And even if you do use F-droid it won't impact you now because it's still in early stage at Google.

Got it. Thanks @rustic monolith
