Hi, I'm currently running an old windows 10 pro pc (I own the license key) having HA Core running on Hyper-V and I feel like the mobo is on the fritz. The machine also functions as a plex server and media storage with two 4TB spinning disks mirrored. I'd like to get recommendations for replacing this with something with a small footprint, is more power efficient, etc. and not be too expensive. I am open to any ideas, O/S or which HA installation I am using etc. I am also open to buying new storage for it as well.

You could get a ugreen
nas or something similar and install the OS of your choice
They have enough compute and with the Intel CPU you can even do the video encoder stuff
thanks I didn't want to talk too much about the encoding stuff with plex but generally speaking, I watch everything in original rez so the encoder isn't even that important. I just didn't think was the right forum to go into detail for the plex aspect of things. I'll check out ugreen.
ok just looked and ugreen is already pricier than I'd want to spend, I see other stuff with n150s and 2 bays for cheaper....
It's an option that is likely to work fine, not one that cuts upfront cost at every edge
I was wondering if I can buy a n150 itx board and install it in my pc, replacing the atx motherboard but allowing me to go to windows 11. I currently am running a core2-2500 with 16GB ram.
Yes that would probably work
What makes you feel like the mobo is on the fritz?
Have you considered getting yourself a new PC to run your Windows stuff, and then install Proxmox on the current hardware? Without the overhead of Windows you should find the performance of HA, Plex and others improves.
Mostly random crashes and randomly sometimes doesn't see a drive on boot. I've tried replacing sata cables without success. Windows 10 also goes EOL in October so I could just throw Ubtuntu on there I guess. I've always been hesitant to change anything also because I'm using the intel raid controller and wasn't sure if switching to Linux I would still see that data just fine and if Ubuntu can notify me somehow if one of the disk has smart errors etc...
