Two devices under the one device heading

In one of the recent updates, devices listed under an integration now have a drop-down heading.

I just replaced my wifi router and am in the middle of configuring IP Addresses.

Everything seems to be working but I have my dishwasher (smart plug) listed under the headings for Dishwasher and Car Charger.

Not sure it happened and I can't see a way to untangle them.

i saw someone with this issue a while back, i think they had to delete everything in the entire integration and set it up again from scratch to to work correctly again.

Yeah, thats not gonna happen. If that is the solution it can stay like that.

yeah that's fair enough, if its not causing any issues then can just leave it.

btw IMO you should jump ship from tp-link (kasa/tapo) stuff they are slowly making things more awkward and they cant be trusted to not just switch of the ability to do stuff.

I am not saying you should go out and replace everything at once but next time your in the market you should look at other stuff. and if stuff fails replace it with something more reliable.

Tapo have been cheap, available in Australia, easy (mostly) to configure and have caused few problems.

That said, I am building a new house in the near future and I think i'm going to move to z-wave for as much as possible in the new place. I am having too many issues with wifi and ip addresses in my current setup.

In other words they were ideal for baby's first smart home.

absolutely. AUS does seem to be a bit more limited in variety too to be fair. historically the tapo stuff hasnt been that bad but they are making it a bit more problematic as things go on so. whilst not a panic its best to move on.
I am sure they will likely be fine until you get ready to set up the new place and you can build a new system when you get there as you say 🙂

I'm not sure, but the entires do look different as under car charger it does not state the number of entities. Have you tried deleting the entry under car charger (three dots should have the delete option) - worst case it will remove Dishwasher as well and you will just need to re-add.

I did try disabling it rather than deleting. Both entries for dishwasher were disabled. This makes me think they are the same device with an error in the linking.

So, deleting will probably get rid of both. But then re-adding should create a single device without the linking - perhaps re-add with a different name to ensure uniqueness, then rename back to original name and rename entites so that you keep the old data.
