Sometimes my voice assistant either triggers when we haven't said the wake word, or it triggers but someone else starts talking before I've finished. This often results in the voice assistant repeating back several sentences of a conversation, which while it can be funny, isn't a great UX. I'm wondering if it would be possible that when the response is > x length it just says "I'm sorry, I didn't get that" then you can check the logs for what it got.

I've had exactly that experience and would support such a feature 🙂
I suggest posting your request here: https://github.com/orgs/home-assistant/discussions
For what it's worth, this normally happens to me when there's a false activate of the wakeword and from some TV audio and it replays a lot of the TV audio following whatever triggered the wakeword
Somehow my wife has found a way to talk at the exact moment I decide to ask the voice pe something. Almost like a sixth sense she has, so yea I feel your pain and this feature would be awesome.
It just happened again last night. It captures and repeats a surprising amount of dialog
