Been a while since my last antenna theory class, and I saw in the docs that horizontal mounting is not recommended (and will blink if the accelerometer detects a suboptimal angle) but…

Can the ZWA-2 be safely and effectively mounted upside down on a ceiling?

Yes. The signal strength underneath the ZWA-2 (or above when mounted upside down) is a bit weaker though.
