#Forecasting energy beyond 24 hours

Hi folks, sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm looking for an EMS that can forecast house load and solar production beyond 24 hours. I have a battery that can last me several days, but I don't like to leave it at high SoC unless I'll actually need it (e.g. there's rain coming in a couple of days).

Ideally some sort of ML is used for the forecast. I know EMHASS does this up to 24 hours, but is it possible to extend forecasts to 48 and 72 hours?

Predbat can do 48h, but it's house load forecast just uses a simple weighted average.

Thanks!

I dont think there is any limit to the number of hours EMHASS can forecast. If you include the forecasted day in the input data and do another 24 hour forecast, you have a 48 hour forecast.

The problem is you also need weather data for 48 hours

for solar I have an addon that can do arbitrary length forecasts, I hope to publish that when it's ready

Oh that's a good point, I hadn't thought to use the forecast as input/historical to keep going forwards.

For solar, I plan to use solcast, which should provide several days of forecasts.

Is there anyway to make the EMS optimization also work on 48 or 72h of forecast data?

I think you can ask more detailed questions on their forum post https://community.home-assistant.io/t/emhass-an-energy-management-for-home-assistant/338126
