#Shelly z-wave plug not updating sensors

Hi all, new to z-wave, figured I'd get just one thing as a test run since buying the ZWA-2. Followed the setup through HA and everything looked good.

Plugged in the Shelly z-wave UK plug, paired it via the QR code, it appeared and I could see power metrics live. Plugging and unplugging stuff reported with 5 seconds or so. I updated the firmware, it rebooted and continued to work as expected.

I've since unplugged it, moved it to it's new home (it's in my network cab so it's powering HA so I can't easily toggle it on/off without it breaking everything) and now it reports a fixed value for it's power use sensors.

Amps/Kwh/volts/watts all seem to just report one value and never change. If I re-interview the device, all the sensors update and show a new value, but then just sit there again.

Any tips on how to debug this?

so a question, if it is off, HA is off, how are you going to toggle it?

#

that said maybe rebuild the routes, or check the new Visualization HA offers...

I just want it for power metrics at the plug, not fussed about toggling.

#

Haha, the visualisation is just a line since it's the only node

maiden raven
#

yeah sure but does it show the node as alive?

gleaming carbon
#

Yep

#

Rebuilding the routes ran fine, no errors, sensors haven't changed though

maiden raven
#

ok does the device have settings to determine how often it should update?

gleaming carbon
#

O1: Minimum Time Between Power Reports

#

Set to 30 seconds

maiden raven
#

yeah but sometimes there is also a threshold

gleaming carbon
#

ah yes!

#

O1: Power Change Report Threshold

#

it's set to 50, min 0, max 100

#

not sure on metric

maiden raven
#

watts maybe...

#

or percentage

#

not sure

gleaming carbon
#

try 0 to disable?

maiden raven
#

on mine it is percentage but that is not shelly

#

I have it on 15%

gleaming carbon
#

It just updated from 100w to 112w

#

i think this is it

#

yeah now 97w

maiden raven
#

probably

gleaming carbon
#

ok that looks like it's fixed, thank you ❤️

maiden raven

always happy to help 🙂

gleaming carbon
#

quick follow up, assume this is set to keep less z-wave traffic going out and not doing updates when not needed? i.e. set to sensible amount and not just disable

maiden raven
#

yep

#

I think my Fibaro plugs have like 4 settings

#

when power changes 80 or 15 percent

#

then hourly when it is less then 15%

#

and the setting for 30 seconds...
