Looks like MoT firmware 3.5.0 is out, but I've tried pushing it to one of my two Eve Energys twice, and it refuses to take. Anyone else had issues updating firmwares from HA?

My eve energy have been on 3.5.0 for a couple months, but maybe I got it early through a test DCL. Some of eves earlier firmware and devices had an issue with thread connectivity and updates, search for the issues that many had updating the eve weather. Kind of Chicken and Egg issue. The new 3.5.* firmware fixed many of those connectivity/update issues, but you need to use the 3.2.* or earlier firmware to get 3.5.*

I found some posts from a while back mentioning that HA had problems when Apple TBRs were used...so I've powered off my ATV, leaving my SLZB-MR1 as the only active TBR. I can still control all my matter/thread devices, so I know it's working and everything failed over to using the MR1, but still can't update...I've been having all kinds of thread issues recently...such as devices refusing to pair to HA as primary master, but they pair just fine to HK and then can multi-master to HA without issue...wondering if Apple has borked their thread stuff

#

oh...might be making some progress...I rebooted HA with my ATV turned off, and now it's actually saying that it's installing...

I had to go the opposite route with the prior HA Matter server. Remove the HA Skyconnect and go with only Apple TBR. Then the update proceeded fine via HA. I have at least for the moment retired the skyconnect and left it disconnected. Much more stable thread network. Zeroe issues from HA with this setup and apple 18.6.

That's interesting. Originally, I only had my one AppleTV as a TBR - my first thread devices were Eve Energy and Arrehome temp sensors. They joined up to HA using the ATV just fine. Then I added 10 or so Inovelli white switches...no issues there either. But recently, I went to add some Aqara W100's, Inovelli fan canopy modules, and some more inovelli white dimmers, and they refused to link up to HA unless they were joined to HK first

#

but now that it seems like the firmware update to the Eve Energy plugs is working with only my MR1 as TBR, I might try to remove some of my newer devices from HA/HK, and then try to re-add them to HA as primary

That was likely an apple 18.5 issue mostly. It’s better with 18.6 and many report gone with ios 26

I'll have to check which versions I'm on...typically have all my apple stuff auto-update, but I know apple slow-rolls everything so their update servers don't get crushed

#

so it looks like the firmware installed, but it took a while to come back online

#

ok...seems to be working normally now...time to update the second one...then to figure out why my bluetooth adapter is no longer being recognized by HA...

Congrats. The 3.5 firmware update changed out the matter and thread stack, so much more robust connectivity.

yeah...I figured that's why it took so long to come back online...even took a few minutes after it reconnected to the thread network for it to accept/process commands

Now wait for the 3.6.x firmware that is on Thread and Matter 1.4.
