Does anyone here use these? How well do they play together? I am moving to a new place soon and really leaning toward Unifi's cameras... or I might cheap out and just get some basic IP cameras, but I hear so much good stuff about Unifi's. Thoughts?

I have Unifi cams and they work perfectly with HA. I can recommend them!

Second @paper latch POV as well. I'm in the process of replacing all my other hodge podge branded cameras to Ubiquiti.

Awesome - what cameras did you two go with? I'm looking at a few different ones. Looks like my options are a lot better if I use their wired/PoE ones and run wires to where I want instead of use their wifi ones.

I think the G5 bullet will suit our needs for the most part.

The G4 doorbell just got back in stock so I ordered one. Looks great. Apparently the fingerprint reader works to even trigger HA webhooks.

I have cabled cameras of different generations. Two dome cameras two bullets and an ai360 and a g5 flex.

The camera integration to HA is really good.

That's awesome, I'm excited.

I also have an ongoing thread about door locks, and would love y'all's input if you have any.

My unifi cameras are fantastic. I'm very happy with them.

There's only two problems:
Expensive, and
The minute you buy something - the newer and better model releases the next day

The g4 doorbell is so much better than the nest.

Not a schlage fan per se but their nonsmart mechanical keypad lock served me well for the last 10 years. The new schlage sense pro is matter over thread so im really hopeful for excellent battery life. Ill find out soon I suppose.

The camera function also breaks constantly within HA due to 429 errors. Stupid cloud APIs.

#

It's also just very frustrating to hear the doorbell ring and not even be able to see who's there.

My hue lights in my office glow green when someone walks up, then flashes green if they ring the doorbell.

The screens on my dashboard pop-up the camera card for the front door as well. Is great

No, just a conditional card that shows up before any other card. I also have a g3 instant in my garage and it opens whenever the ratdgo openers are open.

That said. I wondered about possibly a mqtt event that opens the unifi protect PIP mode window camera on chrome on my desktop. But not sure if thats possible

I use my unifi cameras to trigger lights and stuff with person detection..they work good and I haven't had any issues with it yet.
