Hi all! I'm trying to find some door locks for a new place that work with Home Assistant. I'd really like them to accept a fingerprint and also be Zigbee/Zwave/Matter if possible (not WiFi). I'm having a hard time finding something to meet those needs.

The Aqara U100 seems to need their hub, the Yale Matter Lock looks like it's WiFi, and the Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch appears to only be Bluetooth or WiFi.

Do the Yale Zigbee/Zwave modules work with the Assure Lock 2 Touch, or only the non-touch one? Thanks in advance!!

Level lock has a matter and BT model. They also offer a touch-sensitive model. No, it's not technically a fingerprint reader, but the touch to unlock feature doesn't work unless an authorized phone is close by. I believe they have to unlock the phone for that to work, but I'm not 100% sure on that last part.

They advertise WiFi, but that only works if you buy the extra hub. Most devices don't directly support WiFi without a hub, as WiFi uses more power than Bluetooth, so battery performance is improved with a BT-to-WiFi controller from the manufacturer. I'm not sure about compatibility with HA. I would hope so though!

Thanks for chiming in! I'll take a look at those.

No it doesn't. You need a Thread Border Router. You don't need their Thread Border Router

Aqara locks do not surface all settings in the Matter implementation (not that the lock device type in Matter supports every setting they feature anyways) but you can just change them by temporarily connecting to them via bluetooth over their app

Reseat your battery and use the setup code on the device

Do not try to setup matter through the app the app is just for bluetooth connection for all the crap Aqara won't implement through matter

Thanks! I'll try this (I already put it in for a return on Amazon, this is its last chance, lol)
