A while ago when I started my HA journey, these buttons were recommended. They worked for a little while but unfortunately I've had nothing but problems. Everything Zigbee works rather well in my apartment, but these buttons no longer work. When I press the button on either of my two units, Zigbee2MQTT shows the error, "Received network/route error ROUTE_ERROR_MANY_TO_ONE_ROUTE_FAILURE".

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Moved the button closer to the coordinator
  2. Checked the battery levels
  3. Changed battery (even though battery was showing good in Zigbee2MQTT)
  4. Restarted the button (during battery swap) and the Raspberry Pi that the coordinator is connected to

For reference:
I live in an apartment complex so I cannot reduce interference, though the channel I'm running on seems to work well for all other devices
I have quite a few Zigbee routers in my home

Is there something I should consider doing to get these to work?
If not, what would be a better alternative button to use (preferably something from Amazon)?

have you tried unpairing and pairing them to the network again?

are there any new routers in your mesh that could create problems with your buttons? you could try explicitly enabling pairing on one router while re-pairing them. or just on the coordinator.

i have a sonoff button that is the only sonoff device that has not given me trouble (a small single button that i taped to the headboard on my bed). i also have wall mounted ones from philips, osram, ikea and aqara.

the routers in my mesh are mostly ikea and osram (bulbs), but also a few tuya

Eh it's life I guess. Thanks though!

And, I think I didn't realize, when pairing something in Zigbee2MQTT, I can select the device, or "all". I hadn't realized, I've always used "all" in this. Before switching to Zigbee2MQTT, there was a way in HA to select the router, which is what I did, so right now this may be a me issue. I just tried pairing the button directly with one of the routers and it's "working" although still sometimes getting that error pop up. I'll do some testing and check back in.

okay I redid all of my zigbee devices except one (because it's outside and def in a bunch of spider webs hehe) still get the error when I press the buttons but they seem to be working (for now) I bet it won't after a few days though! We will see.
