I'm trying to add Home Assistant to my Google Home, via Google Home app, but can't proceed due to an error.
Error: "Could not reach Home Assistant Cloud by Nabu Casa. Please try again."

Steps I'm following in the Google Home app:

  1. Add device
  2. Select "Works with Google"
  3. Choose "Home Assistant Cloud by Nabu Casa"
4.Choose "Continue", then "Agree and continue"
  4. Authenticate using Nabu Casa account.
  5. Press "Allow Access"

After doing so, I'm given the error "Could not reach Home Assistant Cloud by Nabu Casa. Please try again."
I've already disabled IPv6 on my Home Assistant instance, and rebooted it.
I've disconnected from Naby Casa cloud, and reconnected, but I still get the error.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there something else going on here?

Image of error attached.

EDIT:
I have Google Assistant enabled under Voice Assistants, and I have exposed entities to Google Assistant.

I'm just chiming in to say I suddenly lost access via Home assistant as well, unable to sync with google home and trying to reconnect gets me the same errors as you do :/

Just wondering have you done anything special with your network?

I think Google is very broken right now. I have been developing an integration app for myself, and had it mostly working until yesterday, now I can't relink, and none of my linked apps show up in the Google Home app. Assuming it was a ME problem, and needing to get the house back online (I am nearing the end of the WAF), I signed up for HA Cloud needing it to "just work" and am getting this same "Could not reach Home Assistant Cloud by Nabu Casa. Please try again." toast message 🤦‍♂️

I had so many issues with the Google Home integration. Duplicating entries, slow responds, constantly adding and removing of entries, etc.

If possible (you have a google device that has a matter hub) I recommend trying the HA Matter-Hub Add-on instead. Haven't looked back since!

This is useful info regardless, thanks!

Circling back to this.. The actual issue is that the Home app uses whatever Google account is selected in Gemini or the Google app at the time.. Open one of those apps, make sure to have your "home" account active, and then relink.

Also having a lot of issues. HA devices suddenly showing as offline but when I try to relink, I can't find Nabu Casa in the works with Google search list. I can't even unlink it bc of this reason.

For me, the issue resolved it self later that day , leading me to believe it was indeed a Google realated issue (at least for my setup)

I didn't need to link/relink tho so YMMV

This is the case for me as well trying nabu casa at the moment, this is the only reason why I "would" get it besides supporting the devs.

I have this issue as well but I also noticed in my nabu casa accounts page it says my remote access instance is not connected and I cant reconnect it, could this be related?

If anyone else wants to share their email address and country that we can gather and pass on to Google you can submit a ticket at support with the subject "HA Cloud by Nabu Casa missing in Google Home"

Nevermind. This issue appears to be a UI issue where the search bar is covering the result. So ridiculous.

This. Whole. Time.

If you close the search bar, check to see if the service is showing directly under it.

#

You can barely see it in this screenshot, just appearing beneath the arrow

#

For some people it will be completely covered, for others it may appear partially or fully. Depends on the screen and device, which is probably why trying another device works for some.

Howdy all, I have this same (as the original) issue where I try to add home assistant cloud to google home. And after I authorise the integration, it gets stuck on (google home side) with a spinny wheel

When trying to unlink the integration I get the Toast about being unable to reach Home Assistant Cloud

I only have one google account on my device. I do however have 2 google homes set up - was there any further thoughts or fixes on what is causing this?
