#Is there a way to re-flash e-welink devices to something cloud-less?

I wonder if there is an option to re-flash the smart-switches that log into e-welink to something that woks without an additional cloud service out there in China? Maybe Tasmota or ESPHome? Maybe that is a dumb question and I am just using the wrong keywords to google?

So let us conquer my own thread with unrelated stuff instead of poisioning Serein's one

lol

its a fair point

we derailed a bit

So for the route, yes I am absolutely fine with hardware intervention and interaction...

#

No problem with hardware development

so if theres an esp inside and its not had the internal fuse blown that prevents firmware flashing. then its entirily possible that you could flash esphome on it manually.

although a MAJOR WARNING. in a lot of iot devices there is no real seperation in AC/DC
the low voltage circuit is referenced to AC neutral. this means the microcontroler pins are live at mains voltage

Yes, I know that. I worked in a home automation company and had to very carefully keep an eye on what is before and behind the separation transformer

#

I probably will set the ESP development onto an old laptop and use it either separated or off battery to program the units, Or I do have these ESP32 programming adapter and can use that to power the device without even having it plugged in.

awesome, you seem to know about electronics but just a heads up.

They use the capacitor dropper power supply.

#

Yes, better save than sorry

you should join the esphome discord and ask over there if anyone has tried it with these switches:

the regulars over there know a lot more about stuff than i do

I bought a few of these and at the day I wanted to install them, the e-welink app stopped working in HA

433 mhz rf. you might bee best off emulating that if you can use that to control it "offline"

No, I am an amateur radio operator and I am not further poisoning the 433MHz

#

Btw all network infrastructure is running over PoE. So there is no problem in just adding a few APUs and have the system going over longer blackout periods. And I don't talk about external blackouts while the world is going down, just the fact that we have vwertical gardens using pumps and heaters. And my mother in law likes to water them manually. The flowers, sometimes also the walls behind them, and sometimes also the wall outlet, boom the RTC is tripping

#

And I cannot separate all wallplugs to separate circuit breakers and such

i know you already have stuff but in the future i would recommend shelly relays

Yes, I was just in the need of a humidity and temperature sensor and these seem to be cheap and easy

#

I followed your link and moved over to the ESPHome hardware thread

#

Seems these Smart Switches do support 433

Apollo Automation

Thanks for all of your support! Next batch ships in 5-6 weeks. Mid-August.The Apollo Automation R PRO-1 PoE mmWave Multisensor (LD2450 and additional LD2412 add-on option) is our most advanced presence sensor. Designed for power, precision, and reliability, the R PRO-1 is a compact PoE mmWave sensor built for high-accu

#

multi sensor that runs on poe

#

i haven't used any apollo stuff personally (yet) but its highly recommended

#

i am gunna get some most likely when some of the new stuff hits the uk supplier

Okay, just to close up this topic:
https://github.com/openshwprojects/OpenBK7231T_App
This seems to be the solution, as the chip under the shield of that SmartSwitch is not any ESP but a BL602E-20. So I have to add that device to that OpenBK7231T_App and see how it works out.

That sensor is interesting. However that thing isn't what I am looking for now. Cause I want to measure humidity and temperature in my network cabinets, and if possible, also door open detection.

#

As you have rarely WiFi inside a steel cabinet and you don't want another power supply or wall-wart inside that, I was looking for some PoE solution.

#

But the SmartSwitch modules are so cheap that I just connected a Power cord and put the unit outside the cabinet, routed the sensor inside through the cable channel and that's it for now. Probably I will add a light to the relay control for the cabinet.

#

Your radar sensor is a cool thing where I want three of them in my lab to detect motion and three outside to detect motion as well.

#

But to be honest, Who put the LAN connector parallel to the detection line of sight? I cannot imagine one installation where the cable would come from the front. At least with my places, LAN would always be fed from the side.

the apollo sensor? is poe and i you can use the ethernet for data
