#Shelly device update - who downloads the image?

When devices connected to HA have fw update available (for example Shelly), who is in charge to download the fw update? Does the HA do it or Shelly on its own?

I would like to setup the VLAN and prevent Shelly devices to access internet, but if they need access to internet to update themselves, it won't fly.

My network is made of unifi switches, AP’s and a router with an isolated vLAN for IoT and a main vLAN for everything else. The IoT vLAN has no internet access and can only access Home Assistant on main vLAN. This is working well for my esphome devices as they can still get updates from Home Assistant. I am about to migrate all of my switches...
