I'm a newbie and installed fresh HAOS 16.0 (core 2025.07.02).
When I click the edit dashboard (pencil top right) I don't see the 2nd row of buttons like I see on https://demo.home-assistant.io/

I just get a popup and no drag-n-drop options on the Overview view.

Click the dotsvertical menu in the top right and "Take Control"

But after that you're on your own for updating this dashboard. Right now you have an autogenerated dashboard which generates dynamically based on your devices.

Ah, I get it. I'd like to create a new dashboard from scratch without messing up the default Overview dashboard.
Is it possible to see the raw yaml pf the currently generated Overview dashboard to try to use that as a starting point?

I think the way to do that is make a new dashboard, select an autogenerated variety, and then take control of it.

Then you can get the full yaml.

Delete it once you're done with it.
